Our Fire Department is located in the
heart of beautiful and historic Liberty, South Carolina.
Liberty Area Fire Department was founded
by Liberty Township in 1925 as a volunteer fire department. Having grown
throughout the years the department is now a combination of volunteer
and paid firefighters. We maintain eight paid personnel and around
twenty-five volunteers.
Our district encompasses the rural and
Liberty city area totaling about 50 square miles.
Our staff is not only firefighter
certified but trained as first responders as well. The department
maintains training up to and exceeding the Level III standard.
Our mission is to provide the
highest level of fire, rescue and emergency medical services to our
customers: The Liberty area residents. Our team of dedicated
professionals are working together to combine modern fire service with
people driven principals of caring, compassion, dedication, and honesty.
Our training, emergency planning,
code enforcement, and innovative fire prevention programs enhance our
services.
